You can’t have a December Saturday without a delicious cup of Hot Cocoa! 😍 My Dark Chocolate Truffle Hot Chocolate recipe was created after dreaming up a deeper cup of cocoa…. A cup of cocoa that will dance on your taste buds! With the addition of cinnamon, a pinch of cayenne, and a dash of nutmeg… the perfect cup of rich cocoa was concocted! I know, you are thinking “cayenne??!” Believe me, with just a touch, it takes chocolate to the next level of deliciousness! The greatest part? It’s super simple and quick to make. The perfect cup of festive goodness for the cold December days! Sharing my recipe with you today. ENJOY! ☕️🍫
- 2 ounces Dark Chocolate finely chopped (I used 71% Dark)
- 1 TBS Cocoa Powder
- 1 1/2 TBS Raw Sugar (regular white sugar works too!)
- 2 TBS Heavy Cream (or half & half)
- 1/4 TSP Ground Cinnamon
- 1/8 TSP Ground Nutmeg
- 1 Pinch Ground Cayenne
- Dash Salt
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1/2 TSP Vanilla Extract
1.) In a heavy-bottom saucepan combine Heavy Cream, Raw Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cayenne, and Salt. Whisk quickly and continuously on medium-high heat until chocolate is thoroughly melted and mixture is slightly bubbly!
2.) Slowly whisk in milk and continue to stir over medium heat until the desired temperature reached. Add vanilla and whisk vigorously to create a nice froth! You can also use an immersion blender for this step.
3.) Pour into your favorite mug, top with marshmallows or homemade whipped cream, and ENJOY!!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
