Looking for rest?

“And He said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”Exodus 33:14

This verse has been one of those “golden nuggets” in my reading lately! How many people are looking for hope in a hopeless world and rest for their weary souls? Yet they are looking for rest in all the wrong places. I was reminded this morning of Matthew 11:28 where it says, “COME unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” THEN the verse that follows is beautiful, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and YE SHALL FIND REST unto your souls.” Spiritual rest is found in coming to Christ! You see, our works cannot save us(Ephesians 2:8-9), our goodness is nothing apart from Christ(Ps 16:2 Romans 3:10-12), and our senstence is death if we do not turn to the Comforter of our souls, Jesus Christ(Romans 6:23). His shed blood on the cross paid the price for our sins(Heb 9:22 1 Peter 1:18-21) and His resurrection from the dead made Him victory over death(1 Cor 15:55-57)! COME. Come to the Lord, confess you are a sinner(1 John 1:9 Acts 3:19-21) in need of a perfect Savior(Psalm 3:8 Isaiah 43:11 John 1:29), lay your burdens at His feet, and find the rest your soul is desperately longing for. “And He said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” ❤️

“And, having made PEACE through the blood of His cross, by him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight”
Colossians 1:20-22

“That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

John 3:15-17
